Review: You Are Mine (Mine #1)
Serena is owned by her father and when she turns seventeen she is sold to another warlock. She will always be owned, never have freedom. Her ownership is own by an Envadi, a barbarian. Life as she knew it changes, giving her more freedom than she’s ever had but will it come at a price?
Wow, I loved this story, it’s so different from previous books ive read, it was a nice change and so compelling. I was dragged into the story as if I were there, it was like watching a movie, seeing everything play out in front of me.
Serena is a strong woman. She does what she can to protect her younger sisters from harm, taking their places for punishment. She isn’t afraid to stand up for herself and what she believes in, even knowing she could be punished for it. She’s brave, outspoken, courageous and loving. A great main character!
Zade, Serena’s new owner is a compassionate character and not at all what I expected. He is a big man and looks intimidating but looks can be deceiving! He’s a kind, honourable, forgiving, protective character with a big heart. I loved him, there was times I questioned it but he always pulled through.
The ending was not what I was expecting at all, the twists were totally unexpected which was awesome as I had no clue it was coming. My guesses of how it would end were completely off and I’m glad as it was so much better than I imagined.
You Are Mine is a great story, I couldn’t put it down and can’t wait to read the next installment Mine to Spell along with the prequel Mine to Tarnish!
