Katherine is sold by her father to another warlock. An old, horrid, smelly man who likes to punish and torment. Rather than staying with her new owner she chooses to run. Katherine must learn to survive on her own and not get caught!
After reading You are mine, book one in the series I was sooooooo excited to read Mine to Tarnish. Katherine was a great character and I was dying to know her story, and what a story it is. And the cover… I love it. I’ve always said I wouldn’t choose a book for its cover but now I know that’s so not true, I’d totally buy this book based on the cover alone.
Katherine is a strong woman, brave, thoughtful, compassionate and forgiving. The way she handles situations was admirable, even knowing if she was caught she could be punished or worse, killed she still had the bravery to run from her new owner Nigel. I found myself cheering her on many times, through the good and the bad.
Charles, oh Charles. He’s a tarnished that takes it upon himself to help Katherine escape and later run from her owner. He’s a kind man who does what he can to help those in need. He’s not your typical male character, he was awesome and I could see why Katherine liked him. Even knowing he could be killed or worse for helping her he still chose to because that’s just the person he is.
I’d have liked to see what happened next. How does Katherine end up as a seamstress? What happens with Charles? Arggghh… The more I read the more questions I had. I want me some answers ;)
Overall Mine to Tarnish was a great read. I was sucked in, one minute I was on chapter one the next it was over. I would definitely recommend this series to YA fantasy fans. I look forward to reading book 2, Mine to Spell when it comes out in May 2014!

Becca spends an amazing weekend with a “marine” Zac, knowing she won’t see him again only to wind up pregnant. Seven years later, after him supposedly being dead he turns up unexpectedly and swears she’s in danger. Becca must learn to trust him and let him into their lives. Zac needs to keep his family safe and will do whatever it takes to make it happen.
Not what I was expecting, but an enjoyable read. There was parts where I felt off and just couldn’t connect with it.
I loved Parker!! He’s such a smart kid, brave, loving, caring, daring and totally cool. I’d have pee’d my pants if I was put in his situation, he rocks! And I totally want his sneakers ;)
I didn’t connect with Becca OR Zac. Becca just didn’t have a backbone at all, everything scared her and she was always crying. Yet she loved getting a rough, hard spanking. There was soooooooo much spanking! It even made my butt tingle a time or two, but she seemed to enjoy it.
Zac is a ghost, part of a special black-ops team kept under the radar. That’s still no excuse for leading Becca and Parker to believe he’s dead! I thought it was good of him to fight to be in their lives but it was a little too late and my attitude soured towards him as soon as he re-appeared. At least he’s willing to die for them!
There was definitely some good parts that made my eyes wet and giggle aloud causing some funny stares to come my way but there was also some rough parts and not enough connection between the main characters. AND there was too many secrets, it just kept me frustrated.

Serena is owned by her father and when she turns seventeen she is sold to another warlock. She will always be owned, never have freedom. Her ownership is own by an Envadi, a barbarian. Life as she knew it changes, giving her more freedom than she’s ever had but will it come at a price?
Wow, I loved this story, it’s so different from previous books ive read, it was a nice change and so compelling. I was dragged into the story as if I were there, it was like watching a movie, seeing everything play out in front of me.
Serena is a strong woman. She does what she can to protect her younger sisters from harm, taking their places for punishment. She isn’t afraid to stand up for herself and what she believes in, even knowing she could be punished for it. She’s brave, outspoken, courageous and loving. A great main character!
Zade, Serena’s new owner is a compassionate character and not at all what I expected. He is a big man and looks intimidating but looks can be deceiving! He’s a kind, honourable, forgiving, protective character with a big heart. I loved him, there was times I questioned it but he always pulled through.
The ending was not what I was expecting at all, the twists were totally unexpected which was awesome as I had no clue it was coming. My guesses of how it would end were completely off and I’m glad as it was so much better than I imagined.
You Are Mine is a great story, I couldn’t put it down and can’t wait to read the next installment Mine to Spell along with the prequel Mine to Tarnish!

Maryah is an average seventeen year old girl, or so she thinks. When she moves in with her adoptive family she learns things about herself and those around her she never thought possible. Maryah must remember who she was so she can reach her full potential as an Element.
Wow, Grasping at Eternity is such an emotional read, I felt like I was on a rollercoaster. I haven’t laughed or cried so much reading a book in a long time, my face is covered in mascara now that I’ve finished :/ haha.
And I love the cover! Teal is my favourite colour and it has lots, I love the title and peacocks! Considering how much peacocks are mentioned in the book it’s nice to see them on the cover, and they’re so pretty!
Maryah is an average seventeen year old girl, at first but things seem to happen to her that can’t be normal. She’s confused and blames it on believable things such as an injury to the brain so her mind’s playing tricks. Sometimes it felt like she was so slow to catch on, I was like HELLO Maryah it’s not that hard to see what’s going on, open your bloody eyes, please!
Nathan bless his little (or not so little) cotton socks! I can’t imagine the pain he was in seeing his soulmate only for her not to have any idea who he is or what they mean to each other. I felt like my heart was getting ripped out my chest at parts, it’s so saddening. And his disbelief she won’t remember him EVER drove me nuts, it’s like HAVE A LITTLE FAITH! Jesus.
My feelings were all over the place when I was reading and still are now that I’ve finished. It took a while for me to get into it, the first few chapters but once I did my iPad (kindle is dead) stayed glued to my hands as much as possible. :)
Grasping at Eternity is a great read, it’s warming, heartbreaking, funny, cute and full of twists and cool superpowers. If your a fan of Paranormal Romance and you haven’t already read it give it a whirl!

Shannon is seventeen when she meets Drake Gallagher and has a crush on him, believing she loves him. They become friends leading to more until Drake ruins it all. Ten years later Shannon is bent on revenge. She applies for a job as his assistant and sets her plan in motion. Will she succeed or fall for him once again?
When I read the synopsis I was looking forward to reading this one, the idea of the story was great, I couldn’t wait to see how it went down, I even read it the day I got it on NetGalley, I was partly disappointed as I expected more but some was okay, I was definitely half and half.
This book had me going round in circles. I didn’t like either of the main characters Shannon or Drake. The chemistry between them just didn’t do it for me. Shannon is hell bent on revenge but that takes a backseat when she sees him. Drake is cold and distant and I just couldn’t connect at all.
There were some parts I enjoyed but more often than not I just couldn’t get into it. I sighed and hmphed through most of it. Though I do want to know what happens next! So there’s got to be something there right? We shall see what happens when the time comes.

Liv Evans has closed herself off, not allowing herself to love someone as she suffered when she was younger. She doesn’t do relationships, boys are only for fun; until she meets Logan Tanner. Logan has also been burnt and finds it hard to trust, he doesn’t do relationships and makes his money street racing. Both Liv and Logan have to learn to let go and do what’s right or suffer the consequences.
Wow, I’m currently bawling like a baby, it’s been a long time since I had a cry with a good book and The Fine Line is just that! The storyline was catchy and entertaining. I’m a big fan of street racing and cars in general so it really pushed my buttons, not to mention the fit hunk, the complete package xD
Liv Evans was hurt in her past and decides to close herself off to prevent it happening again. Liv needs to learn to let loose and live life to the fullest before it’s too late. As a character she didn’t do much for me, I think mostly because she was always running away and giving out mixed signals but in the end she thankfully grew a backbone.
Logan Tanner is a street racing hunk, he races for money and fixes up cars on the side. How hot is that? He’s a great character, funny, charming, hot, a racer HELLO, understanding (to a point) and a great guy in general. I really liked Logan and felt sorry for him through a lot of the story.
The chemistry between Liv and Logan was on fire, but with reluctance from both sides it’s left to get hotter until it consumes them, they wound me up sometimes as I just wanted them together but Liv was too stubborn and Logan too untrusting. It just added to it though, the anticipation kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t put it down as I had to see where it would go.
Overall I thought ‘The Fine Line’ was a great read, full of action, romance, and hot guys. Kobishop has a way of gripping you and not letting go until you’ve finished. I finished this in one sitting and now wish I’d taken my time as I don’t want it to be over!!

Alina Starkov is an orphan along with her best friend Mal, they travel to the fold with their regiment when they are attacked. Alina saves Mal’s life when he is injured with a power she didn’t know she had. Alina’s power catches the attention of the Darkling, the leader of the Grisha’s who believes her power is the key to bring an end to the war.
My first book read in 2014!!!! Just thought I’d share that with you all =)
I finished this book almost 24 hours ago and I still can’t decide exactly how I felt about it, I have mixed feelings, that’s for sure. It took me a good few chapters before I got into the story, maybe even halfway through.
Alina Starkov believes she is nothing special, with her average looks she feels she doesn’t fit in with the beautiful Grisha people. She likes to blend in, not be the centre of attention which of course she is. I just couldn’t connect with her at all. Towards the end she finally grew a backbone and I warmed to her slightly but not enough.
The Darkling is a bar stool, I didn’t like him at all. Even though he saved Alina’s life, he done it for his own gain. He’s a selfish, manipulative, lying person. His power is the complete opposite to Alina’s; he’s the darkness to her light.
The story overall was fun, it was definitely different from others I’ve read but it just took too long for me to get into it. It had its ups and downs, I still haven’t decided if I’ll read the second book in the trilogy, I guess only time will tell.
Jillian is well loved by everyone in Puffin Cove, except for Landon Blood. Her brothers and dead husbands best friend. They’ve been at each others throats since they were young and nothing had changed. All of a sudden their relationship takes a turn, no longer are they trying to claw each other but what will they find instead.
Landon Blood is the gorgeous stud of Puffin Cove, known for his charm with the ladies, lots of them. Landon has demons, one that has plagued him for half his life, he’s determined to overcome it if he’s to have everything he wants, especially his love.
Wow, I’ve been looking forward to reading this since I read Spitfire, the first book in the Puffin Cove series, which blew my socks off. Sweetness wasn’t like I expected, it was totally different. Carla sure gave me a few surprises that were unexpected but loved it all the same.
Carla definitely has a way with words, the pages drew me in and I couldn’t get enough. She made my heart bleed, for both Jillian, Shannon and Landon, made me laugh and cry, snort and jump up and down. The story she tells is amazing and totally broke my heart, in a good way of course.
Sweetness is definitely a good addition to the series, I was hoping we’d get to see their story and now that I’ve read it I love them both that much more. Jillian is an amazing character full of life, she’s witty and funny, doesn’t take no crap and has a heart of gold. The gorgeous Landon has a great depth to his character, one I couldn’t have guessed. He’s such a strong, loving person who deserves the best, and the best is what he eventually gets.

Elle is found hiding in a gun store by Cade Walker and Merrick Sullivan, they take her under their wings. They both become her protectors and make her feel safe, she has no memory of her past except someone tried to kill her. Feelings develop between the three, will it make or break them?
WOW, Theirs to Keep is a truly phenomenal book, the story is amazing and has so much depth, this one definitely tugged at my heart. Banks is an awesome author, I’ve read a lot of her previous work and will definitely be eager for her next releases, her writing really grips me and I find myself pulled in every time.
Elle is such a strong woman, even after the traumatic experience she’s been through she learns to live again, the fear never goes away but she fights to keep it at bay and not let it ruin her. I really admire her, she’s so full of spirit and fire, a great choice for the main character.
Cade and Merrick, okay where to start? They are both yummy specimens, both muscular and kind, caring, understanding, thoughtful. Everything you could want in a man, or me at least. They are great characters and they give a great depth to the story, I fell in love with both of them quite easily! Where can I get my own? :D
Theirs to Keep has left me wanting more, more and definitely more, I can’t wait for Book 2, Always Mine to be published, I shall be reading it the day of release without a doubt. I purchased the eBook version of this but will certainly be getting myself a paperback copy to make my favourites shelf look pretty along with her KGI series, great job Maya.
For a year and a half Gwen gets visits from a mystery man late at night who gives her mind-blowing sex then disappears, all without knowing his name. Gwen finds out her sister Ginger is in deep trouble and heads to Ride, hoping to find her sisters boyfriend Dog, whilst there she comes to an understanding with the hottie president of Chaos MC, Tack. When she gets home no other than mystery man is there waiting for her, and it’s a shock as its the first time since the night they met she’s seen him in broad daylight. MM aka Hawk warns her to stay away from trouble and let him handle it, not too nicely too. It’s not that easy either and Gwen finds herself in trouble waist deep. In comes Mitch Lawson, the hot detective! Not only has she caught Hawks’ and Tacks’ attention, now Mitch wants in the running too. Can Gwen be kept safe whilst they get to the bottom of it? Or will it end badly for all involved?
Another late night, was up til 4AM again to finish it. I totally couldn’t put it down, this is the first Kristen Ashley book I’ve read and it definitely won’t be the last, I love her writing style and look forward to reading more of her work.
I loved the idea of mystery visits from a man who’s nameless, it’s seems very sexy, not that I could do it because I’d totally freak out, but it sounds yummy though. The plot was fun, engaging, packed with action, and lets not forget all the hot-as-hell men. Who wouldn’t love it?
It’s not very often I dislike both the main characters but that is definitely the case with this one. I disliked Hawk as soon as he was introduced, he obviously doesn’t know how to treat a woman right and therefore loses points in my book, he’s a complete asshole with a capital ASS and this only gets confirmed repeatedly as it progressed, an excuse is just that, an excuse. Gwen wasn’t too bad at first but as time went on she just didn’t do anything for me. I hate when the main characters are bitchy, and don’t have a backbone. Yeah, so she argues back a little but when he comes calling she runs to him, over and over, what happened to standing your ground? Grrrr… I think I’d have preferred her to end up with Mitch, he seems well better that that hound, or even Tack, he’s a total badass but can be gentle and understanding too.
Elvira was my favourite character, she’s totally awesome and outspoken, isn’t afraid to speak her mind and can hold her own surrounded by big macho men, you rock girl, lets not forget the Valentino’s either! I’d have died and gone to heaven!
Overall I loved reading ‘Mystery Man’, I just wish there would have been more to the main characters as I couldn’t stand either or them, still a great read though, I can’t wait to read the others in the ‘Dream Man Series’!
Moirai begins seven months after Olivia and Joshua reach Shadow. Both Olivia and Josh train to perfect their skills to get ready for the uprising against Genesis. The rebel alliance have been planning for months and they are determined to get the job done in hopes of making the world a better place.
Wow, I re-read Aberrant today just to refresh my memory and it knocked me again with the ending! I hate cliff-hangers but at least I had Moirai to read straight afterwards. Ruth has a great writing style, it felt like it took me no time at all to read both Aberrant and Moirai (both in one day) as the words are smooth and flow together nicely.
I loved both Olivia and Joshua in Aberrant and now more so after finishing Moirai, they just amaze me! Even without all their awesome talents. The bond they share is magical all on its own. The love and trust they share with one another makes me all warm and fuzzy. Olivia was a lot stronger in Moirai, takes more of a dominant role, of which she’s more than capable of handling. Joshua too steps up to the mark and does his own bit for the alliance, they both played big parts (obviously cos they’re the main characters) in the uprising.
There we definitely parts that had me wanting to pull out my hair, Dylan in the mansion? Meeting Chloe’s husband, who’d have guessed? I mean what! Come one, don’t you think enough has happened to them as it is without throwing this out there too? It did make things exciting though and give it a kick.
The ending was totally unexpected and has left me hanging yet again! I’m not happy, I want book 3 now *stomps feet*, please? I loved the ending though, okay maybe not the bit in Torv but the scenes prior to that, they were special and I felt like I’d waited forever for them both!
So happy ending with a not so happy ending right? Totally unexpected but well done! I can’t wait to see what happens next! At least we haven’t got long to wait!
If your a fan of dystopian then I suggest you give the Aberrant series a go, totally worth the time.

Riviera Benson escapes an unhealthy relationship and moves away from Chicago to start a new life. She loves to paint and finds a great job, allowing her to paint multi million dollar homes, which is how she meets Shan.
I really enjoyed reading Tragically Flawed, I haven’t read any books by Hargrove before this but I’ll definitely be reading more in the future as I loved her writing style.
The story was great and I loved following how Riviera grew. She started out as a woman who didn’t feel safe in her own skin and was always scared to become a woman who is sure of herself and learns to trust.
Riviera is such a strong character. After all she’s been through you’d expect her to be broken, in a way she is but not to the point she can’t go on. She builds a life for herself and doesn’t give up. I really loved Riviera.
Shan was also a loveable character, he’s beautifully understanding, protective, handsome, rich and doesn’t take no bullshit. He has demons of his own which he learns to overcome with the help of Riviera. They are a great match and complement each other wonderfully.
There’s a depth to all of Hargrove’s characters that allows the reader to be sucked into the story, I fell in love with all the characters except for Marshall Sue and Jason of course as they’re little sh*ts!
Overall Tragically Flawed was a great story filled with treachery, abuse, love, hardship and trust. There’s also plenty of steamy sex scenes that leaves you panting and wanting to take cold shower or three.

Sofia is taken from the beach on her seventeenth birthday by a vampire called Lucas. Sofia is taken to an island that houses the biggest vampire coven. She is chosen out of hundreds to join the prince, Derek’s harem.
Holy Moses, I completely loved A Shade of Vampire. The plot was amazing and different to anything I’ve read in the past. Forrest is a genius, her writing style left me speechless and she had me sucked in from the start.
Sofia didn’t leave a good impression at first, at least not for me but she soon grew on me. Especially her stunt once introduced to Derek with Gwen. She’s been through a lot but still keeps her strength and her determination to escape gave me high hopes for her.
Derek Novak was completely different than I expected! I thought I’d hate him and he’d be a heartless monster, pretty much like Lucas, his brother but he wasn’t like that at all. He wasn’t an arrogant jerk but a man trying to do what’s right.
The Shade was a thing of beauty, the pavilion, my god in my head it looked completely brilliant! Imagine a network of houses all built in the trees, spectacular. And the safety measures in place to keep the vampires protected from the world outside was awesome!
Overall I completely loved A Shade of Vampire and I’m eager to read the next book in the series, A Shade of Blood. I’d really recommend reading this if you a paranormal/vampire fan!

Cece has to renovate a house for a tv show, a house that is owned by her ex-boyfriend, father of her baby, Brock. Cece is determined to get the job whilst dodging Brock and her attraction to him. There’s more going on behind the scene and Cece doesn’t like it. Brock wants her back and is willing to put the effort in at the same time as trying to go about his own business.
After reading the synopsis I was really looking forward to getting into this one, unfortunately I just couldn’t seem to connect with it. The story was different but in a good way, the writing just didn’t seem to connect for me.
At first I was confused as to who everyone was as the chapters kept jumping to different characters. Cece and Brock, Lily and Phoebe, Matty and Kitty, Uncle Court and Nikky, Gloria and Jan etc, I just felt as if too much was going on at once and couldn’t put my mind on anything in particular.
That being said I liked the plot and really liked Cece as a main character! She’s totally sassy and I loved her attitude. Brock was a hunk but didn’t really do anything for me which was disappointing as hell.
Overall it was an okay read for me but couldn’t really connect with the characters.

Laura decides to pack up and move, being thirty-eight, almost thirty-nine with two grown sons who no longer live with her has left her wanting more. She decides to move to Newfoundland after visiting there previously with her mom and sons. Laura finds herself in Puffin Cove on her first night and falls in love with the place instantly.
Kane moves to Puffin Cove from Ireland after a tragic accident leaving him unable to stay in his homeland. Five years has passed before he’s ready to move on and grab life with both hands. He’s a well known artist and a great man.
This story is great, it’s not your typical boy meets girl and falls in love, instead it’s a man meets a woman who have both suffered from previous relationships and are ready to try again. The writing was well done, except from Kane’s speech at first which I had some trouble with but soon got the hang of it, it helps thinking of my dream man (Gerard Butler) as Kane!
Both the main characters were easy to like and I admired how strong Laura is. Unhappy with her life, deciding to move away from home and start all over again takes some guts. Her passion for her work was awesome to see and even though she’d retired before the book started I’m glad we got insight in the reason why during a conversation between her and Kane. Kane was also easy to love as he’s so laid back, maybe not at first with Laura but that didn’t last. He’s so thoughtful and sexy, not to mention his accent! Irish is my #1 accent so this was a major bonus!!!
I loved how descriptive Carla was with the surroundings, I could easily picture Puffin cove in my mind, I prefer reading a book and being able to visualise which I was able to do in lots of detail. Puffin Cove sounds amazing, it’s definitely a place I’d love to visit as it sounds so relaxing and just flat out awesome. The habitants are all welcoming and friendly too, and being right near the ocean with icebergs wins points.
A truly great read! I’m so glad I got to see a teaser of ‘Sweetness’ as I loved both Jill and Landon almost as much as Laura and Kane and can’t wait to read their story.

Lexi Hamilton is taken from her home to the Hole where she is branded a sinner, after being accused of Lust, one of the Seven Deadly Sins by the Commander; who is an arrogant sadistic gerk. Lexi is then escorted to her new home by her guard; Cole. The Hole is a horrible place, where people go to work and die. Everyone is treated like an animal (besides the guards), there is no respect or justice, only cruelty.
I was so emotional reading ‘Branded’, never before have i read a novel that has reduced me to such a sobbing mess; that is of course until this came along. The story is so intense I just couldn’t put it down, if i tried it was back in my hand within minutes. All’s i kept saying throughout was “God, Please No!”. The plot was well thought out and no detail was left unturned.
The character building was amazing, not just the main characters Lexi and Cole but the minor characters too such as Sutton, Bruno, Keegan etc. I felt i really connected with all of them which is something that’s not always easy to come do, especially as there are so many of them.
My favourite character was Cole, how could it not be? He goes against everything he knows and is taught to help a sinner. The feelings developed between Lexi and Cole is heart-warming, although it is totally forbidden for Guards to get attached to the Sinners. This doesn’t stop Cole though, and he does everything he can to make the Hole better for her. I totally love him!
Overall i thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘Branded’ and can’t wait for the next Sinners novel as i’m dying to see what happens next! After reading the eBook i have even ordered the paperback i loved it that much. A job very well done ladies!
